About three months ago, we released public betas of the Windows Live Essentials – our suite of downloadable programs for your Windows PC, including Messenger, Mail, Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Writer, Toolbar, and Family Safety.
Since then, we’ve received a ton of great feedback and we’ve been using that information to update these programs. We’re getting very close to the final release. But before we get there, we’re refreshing the beta versions one more time to make sure we’ve ironed out all the kinks. You can get the latest betas from: http://download.live.com/.
We’re working hard to get the final versions ready to go as soon as possible. So let us know what you like and don’t like, and if you’re running into any issues that we need to take care of before we take the “beta” tags off.

To you guys who receive the 8e5e0158 error, just keep clicking retry until it logs you in. I only did it for a couple of seconds and it worked. It was strange how I was able to log into another account while this was occurring. Come on Windows Live Team 😛 step up the game. Other than that, I ❤ MSN Messenger.

Hey guys, I know you\’re probably not going to believe me and honestly im not sure if this will even work for anyone else, but i had the "8e5e0158" problem for about a day and i got sick of it so i started to search for solutions, it came up with all this registry deletion stuff and that didnt work so i just decided try the most ridiculous sounding thing that was on here, to keep pressing retry, 15-30 times until i signed in. now at first i thought that this was utter bs and pretty funny but then i actually tryed it and after about 20 or so times it actually worked, try it, if it doesnt work after about 30 trys i would consider giving up though >_>
Well guys, as stupid and silly as it may sound, I\’ve finally tried Tom\’s solution and I have to say it works.. After my 30th click it still didn\’t open but then I decided to try and click very fast as many times as I could, and I am in now.. So it works… I recommend you to try it also..

…and still I\’m stuck on the same issue…!!! to wlmessenger developers: when will you please fix the problem with the e-mail icon to make it open your inbox through the Firefox browser??? the far it can do is to take me to the sign-in page, but the very old version of MSN, which mostly takes so long to open into my account after I sign in…Anyway! if anybody knows where can I get the answer of my question, please post it here, it\’ll be appreciated!!
Hey guys,I seriously need a help… I am trying a new beta series of Live Essentials, But whenever I want to install the new version I get the following error:Microsoft Application Error Reporting – Programs were not installed because the program was canceled. Error: 0X80004004Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime – Error: 0X80004004Windows Live Communications Platform – Check to be sure you are connected to the Internet. Error: 8104000d Does anybody know what can I do?Because I use Windows Live Mail and Windows Live messenger as my primary Mail and messaging application I will face serious problems. Please help me!!!By the way, I tried Windows Cleanup utility and remove all Windows Live Entries… I disabled my firewall (while the setup works with it because it could download the VS Runtime)… I checked my Internet options for Automatic Setting and It was checked… I also check my internet connection and it was and is OK (as I am writing this message now). I also cleaned my disk using Disk Cleanup utility… I was wondering about two things:1 – Why does the setup need to install VS runtime while I have Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and Visual Studio 2005 installed on my computer. 2 – Why can setup download VS Runtime but it can\’t download Windows Live Communications Platform and the rest of other packages.Just for more information: I have Windows Vista Ultimate installed on my computer with all updates. I also have IE 8 final version and I have 17 GB of free disk space on my installing drive. So can anybody help me…? Plz!!! 😦
